Custom Team Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Joni · Jim · Fahim · Wasi · Tanvir · Zobayer · Arnob · Nahiyan · Ismail · Zihan · ShihabFocusing on a direct and vertical style of play, this team utilizes a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the second ball and hit in behind on the transition. The players aim to move the ball forward quickly to catch the opposition out of position.
Wasi guards the goal and organizes the back line. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with Tanvir and Nahiyan providing width from the flanks. Tanvir acts as a defensive wing back to protect the side while Nahiyan looks to overlap when possible. In the center, Shihab and Zihan defend the area, with Shihab playing as a ball playing defender to start attacks. They focus on defending zonally and keeping the line high to squeeze the space.
The midfield functions through a combination of roles to control the center. Fahim sits in a central role to shield the defense and recycle possession. Zobayer and Arnob work as an inverted eight pairing to drive forward with the ball and link the defensive and attacking lines. Ismail plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines. This group works to compress the midfield and press in a mid-block to win the ball back.
Up front, the team relies on two forwards in a partnership. Jim operates as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition. Joni plays as a second striker in the hole to receive on the half-turn and find space between the lines. They look to use combination play to split the defence with a through ball. The duo works to stretch the defence by making runs in behind and preparing for cutbacks from the byline.
The primary tactical advantages of this formation include the ability to press high in coordinated waves and create numerical superiority in midfield when Ismail pushes forward. The team can also exploit wide areas through the movement of Nahiyan and Tanvir to create overloads. This makes the lineup very dangerous during quick transitions.
This 4-4-2 formation is designed to be a direct and high pressing unit. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line and leave space behind their defenders.
