Horyainov sits between the posts to command the penalty area. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with Villagra acting as the right back and Suslo holding the left. In the middle, Panchyshyn and Gueye work together to block passing lanes and win aerial duels. Villagra and Suslo often push up the flanks to provide width, while the two center backs drop back to cover space if the midfield is bypassed.

A single pivot sits in front of the defense to provide protection. Edmar acts as the holding midfielder who shields the back four and breaks up play. Ahead of him, Cleiton Xavier and Yakubovsky operate in the central areas to connect the defense to the attack. Cleiton Xavier uses his passing range to move the ball forward, while Yakubovsky works to drive the team into the final third. This trio in the middle ensures Metalist can maintain control of the center of the pitch.

The attack relies on three front players to stretch the opposition. Tarasov plays as the lone striker to hold up the ball and fight against central defenders. On the wings, Dević and Taison provide goal threat by cutting inside from wide positions. Dević and Taison press the opposing full backs heavily to force turnovers high up the pitch. This movement creates space in the channels for the midfielders to run into.

This formation offers significant advantages in transition and wide overloads. Metalist can create numbers in the attacking third when Villagra overlaps to support the wingers. The midfield trio allows the team to press in coordinated waves to trap opponents in their own half. By using Taison and Dević to pull defenders wide, the team creates gaps for Yakubovsky and Cleiton Xavier to exploit.
