AYQAL /IPAN · NADEM · AAN /AYQAL · RONALDO · ALONG /MAG · CHEKAL /ZACK · BOTAK · OMAN · AWISH · AYEP · HAKIM / PANJANG

Johor DT looks to sit deep and strike with speed using a 5-4-1 formation. This lineup is built to absorb pressure and play a low block while waiting for the right moment to break. The team focuses on defensive solidity to frustrate opponents before launching vertical attacks through the flanks.

AYQAL /IPAN stays between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line consists of three central defenders with NADEM and ALONG /MAG sitting in the middle while AYEP provides support to the left. On the flanks, AAN /AYQAL and RONALDO operate as wing backs who must track back to help the central defenders. This five man unit covers a lot of ground to block crosses and prevent runners from breaking the line.

In front of the defense, the midfield acts as a flat four to keep the lines compact. OMAN and BOTAK sit in the central roles to shield the back three and intercept passes. They connect the defense to the attack by winning the ball and quickly finding the wider players. CHEKAL /ZACK and AWISH occupy the wide areas to provide width and help the wing backs when the team needs to press higher up the pitch.

The attacking plan relies on HAKIM /PANJANG as a lone striker. He must hold up the ball to allow the midfield to push up and join the play. When Johor DT wins the ball back, the wide players CHEKAL /ZACK and AWISH push forward to deliver crosses into the box. The movements are designed to create space for the striker to turn and run at the opposition defense.

One major strength of this formation is the compactness when defending in a low block. The proximity of the midfield and the back five makes it very hard for opponents to find gaps between the lines. Another advantage is the ability to use the wide players to launch quick transitions. By using the wing backs and wide midfielders, the team can switch play rapidly to catch the opponent out of position.

This 5-4-1 formation prioritizes defensive stability and quick counter attacks. It is a tactical choice best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and require a disciplined block to stop.
