The team plays a heavy counter attacking style of football using a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup relies on staying compact to frustrate opponents before hitting them with quick transitions. The goal is to win the ball in the middle third and move the ball forward rapidly to exploit space left behind the opposition defense.

Будківський stays between the posts to act as the last line of defense. The back line sits in a mid block featuring a flat back four. Мендоса acts as the right back while Гуцуляк occupies the left back position to cover the wide areas. In the heart of the defense, Оба and Педріньйо work together to defend zonally. Оба focuses on covering space while Педріньйо looks to win headers and clear the lines when under pressure.

The midfield is a five man unit designed to squeeze the space in the center of the pitch. Калюжний acts as a single pivot to shield the defense and collect the ball from the defenders. On either side of him, Педро Енріке and Караваєв occupy the central roles to win the second ball and recycle possession. Further forward, Шабанов and Бабогло operate as two tens in the half spaces to connect the midfield to the lone striker. These players look to pick up runners and move the ball into the final third.

The attack is built around a lone striker, Кемкін, who must hold up the ball and work hard to press from the front. Because the formation uses three attackers behind him, the team creates constant pressure through the middle. Шабанов and Бабогло often drift into the channels to support the play, creating chances for Кемкін to find space in behind. When the team wins the ball, they look to hit in behind on the transition by using the width provided by the advancing midfielders.

One major strength of this lineup is the ability to compress the midfield when defending. By sitting in a compact block, the team makes it very hard for opponents to play through the lines. Another advantage is the speed of transition when the midfield unit wins the ball and immediately looks to find the advancing attackers. This setup allows the team to quickly switch play and catch the opposition out of position.

This 4-5-1 formation provides a disciplined defensive base that is perfect for sitting deep against dominant sides. It is best suited for games where the team needs to defend a lead or face an opponent that controls most of the possession.
