Arsenal Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Kepa · Timber · Saliba · Hincapie · Mls · Eze · Norgard · Rice · Madueke · Jesus · MartinelliArsenal favors a high press and intense control through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the ball and squeeze opponents into their own half. The goal is to use quick ball movement to break lines and create high turnover opportunities.
Kepa stays between the posts to sweep up long balls and start the build up from the back. A flat back four consists of Timber on the right and Mls on the left to provide width. Saliba and Hincapie operate as the central defenders where Saliba uses his recovery speed and interception skills to protect the line. Timber and Mls are expected to push high up the pitch to support the wingers.
The midfield functions as a central engine room using a single pivot system. Norgard sits deep to shield the defense and recycle possession. Rice operates as a box to box runner who can drive forward or drop back to cover space. Eze plays in the left central role to connect the lines and use his dribbling to move the ball into the final third. This group allows Arsenal to control the tempo and switch play quickly.
In the attacking phase, the team uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. Gabriel Jesus acts as a lone striker who holds up the ball and makes runs into the channels. Martinelli stays wide on the left to cut inside and run at defenders, while Madueke operates on the right wing to provide width. These forwards press the opposition back line to force mistakes and keep the play in the attacking third.
One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when Timber or Mls overlap. The midfield trio of Rice, Norgard, and Eze provides enough presence to win second balls and keep the ball in tight spaces. Another strength is the speed of transition when Madueke or Martinelli exploit the space left behind by advancing defenders.
The Gunners rely on high energy and quick ball movement to overwhelm their rivals. This formation is best suited for games against teams that sit deep and defend in a low block.
