Achouri plays as the left striker to occupy the opposition center backs, while Mastouri plays as the right striker to find space in the channels. These two forwards must hold up the ball to allow the midfield to push up the pitch. When the team transitions, the wing backs, Abdi and Valery, push high to provide crosses, while the strikers move wide to create gaps in the center for Sassi to exploit.

A major strength of this Tunisia lineup is the defensive compactness it offers when sitting in a low block.
