Starting Lineup

MALONE · S. KOTTO · TOLO · EBONG (BOYOMO) · BALEBA · TCHAMADEU (BASSOGOG) · MBEUMO · NAMASO (KEMEN) · YONGWA · KOFANE (ETTA EYONG) · EPASSY

Prioritizing high intensity pressing and quick transitions, Cameroon operates within a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup seeks to overwhelm opponents in the middle third and launch rapid attacks whenever they win the ball back. The Indomitable Lions use this system to control the tempo through aggressive ball recovery and verticality in the final third.

EPASSY guards the goal while a back three provides the defensive foundation. S. KOTTO leads the central defense, acting as the anchor to intercept passes and hold the line. TOLO operates as the left central defender to cover wide areas, while MALONE stays on the right to provide cover. The defensive unit stays compact to prevent opponents from playing through the middle.

The midfield works in a flat four to control the width and depth of the pitch. BALEBA and EBONG form a central pair that works to win second balls and break the line with their passing. BALEBA uses his physical presence to shield the defense, while EBONG looks to drive forward into space. TCHAMADEU and YONGWA act as wing backs, pushing high to support the attack and tracking back to help the back three when the team loses possession.

In the attacking phase, Cameroon utilizes three forwards to stretch the opposition. KOFANE leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and occupy the central defenders. MBEUMO and NAMASO play as wide attackers, often cutting inside to create goal scoring chances or making runs behind the defensive line. This front three maintains a high press to force mistakes from the opposition defenders.

One major advantage for Cameroon is the ability to create wide overloads when TCHAMADEU and YONGWA overlap the attackers. Another strength is the capacity to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trap opponents near their own goal. This pressure creates space for BALEBA and EBONG to exploit through quick vertical passes.

This 3-4-3 formation relies on heavy physical output and rapid ball movement. It is most effective against teams that play a high defensive line or struggle with intense pressure in wide areas.
