Starting Lineup

SVILAR · ZIOLKOWSKI · MANCINI · HERMOSO · CELIK · KONÈ · CRISTANTE · WESLEY · SOULÈ · DYBALA · FERGUSON

Prioritizing heavy pressing and rapid transitions, Roma employs a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to control large areas of the pitch by using width and aggressive movement to disrupt the opponent. The tactical identity focuses on winning the ball high up the pitch and quickly moving it into the final third to catch defenders out of position.

SVILAR operates between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line consists of a central trio with MANCINI acting as the anchor in the middle. To his left, HERMOSO provides ball playing capabilities to start attacks, while ZIOLKOWSKI stays close to the center to defend the space behind the midfield. This three man unit works to maintain a high line, with the defenders ready to step up and intercept passes or drop back to cover long balls.

The midfield functions with two central players and two wide players providing much of the engine room. CRISTANTE operates as a key figure in the center, looking to break the line with his passing and tracking back to help the defense. KONÈ works alongside him to drive the ball forward and cover ground in the middle third. On the flanks, CELIK and WESLEY act as wing backs, pushing high to provide width and tracking back to form a five man line when the team sits deep.

Roma uses a front three designed to stretch the opposition defense. DYBALA operates on the left where he can cut inside to create chances or shoot, while SOULÈ stays wide on the right to beat his marker and cross the ball. FERGUSON leads the line as the lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball to bring the attackers into play. These forwards lead the press, forcing mistakes and creating space for the midfielders to run into.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when CELIK and WESLEY push forward to support the wingers. The team also gains numerical superiority in the middle when KONÈ and CRISTANTE press in coordinated waves. This allows the club to dominate the center of the pitch and quickly switch play to the flanks to exploit isolated defenders in one on one situations.

This 3-4-3 lineup is a high intensity system built for teams that want to dictate the tempo through aggressive pressing. It is best suited for matches against opponents who play with a high defensive line and struggle to cope with rapid vertical attacks.
