MBABA stays between the posts to manage the defensive line. The back four functions as a flat defensive line, with OYONO and EKOMIE acting as full backs who provide width when the team has the ball. ECUELE MANGA and M. LEMINA act as the central defenders, where ECUELE MANGA uses his physical presence to win headers and M. LEMINA provides cover when the line steps up. The unit works together to hold a high line and squeeze the space in the middle of the park.

In the center, a double pivot provides the foundation for the team. KANGA and N´DONG act as the two holding midfielders who sit in front of the back four.
