Starting Lineup

ALFI · FURQAN · MUHAJIR · CUT YON · YANDA · ARIF · DOLAH · AL · AYAH HAFIZ · HERI · RISKI

Focusing on a heavy defensive block and rapid transitions, Accrington operate with a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep and absorb pressure before launching quick attacks through wide areas. The team relies on defensive compactness to force opponents into wide positions where they can be contained.

MUHAJIR stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defense uses a back three consisting of ARIF, CUT YON, and DOLAH to guard the central zone. ARIF sits in the middle to command the area while CUT YON and DOLAH cover the spaces to his left and right. On the flanks, AL and YANDA act as wing backs who push up to provide width but must track back to form a five man line when the opponent holds the ball. This unit works together to maintain a low block and intercept passes before they reach the penalty area.

The midfield consists of a double pivot with HERI and AYAH HAFIZ occupying the central spaces. These two players must work hard to cover the ground between the defense and the attack. HERI and AYAH HAFIZ focus on breaking up play and winning second balls to quickly transition the team forward. They act as the link by receiving the ball from the defenders and looking to find the front three as soon as possible.

In the attacking phase, Accrington use three forwards to stretch the opposition. RISKI plays as a lone striker to hold up the ball and lead the press against the opposition center backs. On the wings, FURQAN and ALFI operate as wide attackers who look to cut inside or run into the channels. The movement of FURQAN and ALFI creates space for the wing backs to overlap and provide crosses into the box for RISKI.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when AL and YANDA push forward to join the attackers. The team also finds strength in their compactness when defending, making it difficult for opponents to play through the middle. By keeping the distances between the players small, Accrington can press in coordinated waves once the ball enters their half.

This formation is built for a team that wants to be defensively solid and strike on the break. It is best suited for matches against dominant sides where Accrington need to absorb constant pressure and exploit space behind the opponent defense.
