Starting Lineup

Liverpool focuses on rapid transitions and aggressive verticality through a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep in a compact block before launching quick attacks once the ball is won. The goal is to use the width provided by the wing backs to stretch the opposition and create space for the front three to exploit.

In goal, MUHAJIR acts as the last line of defense. The defensive unit relies on a back three consisting of ARIF, CUT YON, and DOLAH. ARIF sits in the middle to command the area and cover ground, while CUT YON and DOLAH provide stability on the left and right sides of the central trio. On either side of this central block, YANDA and AL operate as wing backs. YANDA pushes high to provide width on the right, while AL makes runs to support the left flank, helping the team transition from a deep defensive block to an attacking stance.

The midfield works as a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. AYAH HAFIZ and FURQAN occupy the central roles, tasked with breaking up opposition play and connecting the defense to the attackers. They must sit close together to protect the back three and prevent opponents from playing through the middle. Once they intercept a pass, they look to play direct balls to the forwards to start a counter attack.

Up front, Liverpool utilizes three attackers to pin the opposition back. RISKI leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and bring others into play. On the wings, OUCOO and ALFI provide the necessary width and goal threat. OUCOO operates on the left to cut inside or deliver crosses, while ALFI moves on the right to stretch the defense. This trio presses high when the ball is lost to prevent the opposition from building play easily.

This formation offers significant defensive compactness when sitting deep in a low block. By having three central defenders and a double pivot, Liverpool can create a very dense middle that is difficult to penetrate. Another advantage is the ability to create wide overloads. As YANDA and AL push forward, they create situations where the wingers can stay central or receive crosses in dangerous areas, forcing the opposition defense to shift constantly.
