Nigeria relies on a direct and defensive identity through a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup focuses on being hard to beat by sitting deep and using quick transitions to catch teams off guard. The team wants to keep the game compact, using a heavy defensive block to invite pressure before launching long balls or rapid passes toward the front two.

Sayem guards the goal and organizes the defensive line from the back. The defense operates with a back three consisting of Salman (c), Nuppe, and Iburrnn, where Salman (c) acts as the leader to organize the line and cover space. Nshyn operates as the left wing back to provide width on the flank, while Sabiul pushes up as the right wing back to support the attack. This unit is built to stay narrow, forcing opponents wide so the central defenders can intercept crosses or step up to block through balls.

The midfield functions as a trio in the center of the pitch. Vortex plays a central role to shield the defense and break up opposition play. Samuel/Anan occupies the left central midfield spot to connect the defense to the attack, while Zaan Cena operates on the right side to drive the ball forward. This midfield three must work hard to track back and cover the space left behind by the wing backs, ensuring the middle of the pitch remains congested when the team sits deep.

In the attacking phase, Nigeria uses two forwards to stretch the opposition. Deen Company plays as the left striker to hold up the ball and lead the press, while Moustxchio operates as the right striker to run into channels and find space. The attack relies on the wing backs, Nshyn and Sabiul, to provide the width needed to create crosses. These two strikers must push the opposition defenders back to prevent them from stepping up into the midfield.

This formation offers the advantage of great compactness when defending in a low block. By having three central defenders and three midfielders, Nigeria can create a heavy wall that is difficult to break through centrally.
