Racing Club looks to control the game through defensive solidity and rapid transitions using a 5-4-1. This formation focuses on sitting deep when out of possession and using the width of the pitch to launch attacks. The team aims to frustrate opponents by keeping the lines tight, making them hard to break down before looking for quick passes to move up the field.

Cambeses acts as the last line of defense behind a heavy defensive unit. The back five consists of Sosa, Pardo, and Basso in the center, while Martirena and Rojas operate as wing backs on the flanks. Sosa provides presence in the air and covers the central area, with Pardo and Basso sitting narrow to protect the middle. Martirena and Rojas push high to provide width, but they must track back quickly to form a flat line of five when the opponent has the ball.

The midfield works in a block to protect the defense and connect to the attack. Miljevic sits in the center to hold position, while Nardoni and Zaracho operate on the left and right sides of the middle third. Carboni plays as an attacking midfielder, looking to break the line with through balls and find space between the opponent's lines. This midfield unit works to intercept passes and press the opposition before they can turn towards the goal.

Racing Club relies on a lone striker, Maravilla, to lead the line. Maravilla must hold up the ball to allow the midfield to push forward and provide a target for crosses from Martirena or Rojas. The attack is built through vertical passes from the midfield to the front man, who can then use his physical presence to bring others into the game. The wingers and attacking midfielders must run hard to support Maravilla in the final third.

A primary strength of this formation is the defensive compactness that makes it difficult for teams to play through the middle. Racing Club can use the wing backs to create wide overloads once the ball is won back in the center. The team also benefits from the ability to shift quickly from a deep block into a counter attacking mode, using the passing range of the midfielders to find Maravilla or the surging runs of Martirena.
