High pressing and verticality define the tactical identity of Bahia in a 4-5-1. This formation aims to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly move it into the final third. The lineup works to disrupt the opposition by squeezing the space between the lines and forcing mistakes in the build up phase.

E. Andrada keeps goal and acts as the first point of distribution for the defense. A flat back four provides the foundation, with J. Gómez acting as a right back who can push up to support the midfield. L. Juba operates on the left side to provide width. In the center, G. Xavier and Santi Mingo form the defensive pairing, where they must mark tightly and cover for one another to stop through balls.

The midfield functions as a compact block of five. A double pivot consisting of Caio A. and Jean Lucas sits in front of the defense to shield the center and intercept passes. In front of them, É. Ribeiro, E. Pulga, and Luiz Araújo operate as the central engine. Luiz Araújo, the captain, helps connect the lines with his passing range, while É. Ribeiro and E. Pulga drive the ball forward to support the attack. This group must move together to prevent gaps from opening between the lines.

A lone striker, W. José, leads the line to lead the press and hold up the ball. Because there is only one attacker, the midfielders must provide constant support to prevent him from being isolated. The wingers or wide midfielders in this system are expected to cut inside or overlap to create central presence. The goal is to create space for W. José to turn and run at the defense or to find space for late runs from the midfield.

This system offers significant advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having five players in the middle, Bahia can create numerical superiority in the center of the pitch to win back possession quickly. The compact nature of the unit makes it difficult for opponents to find pockets of space, especially when they try to play through the center.
