High pressing and quick transitions define the identity of Cameroon as they deploy a 3-5-2. This formation allows the team to dominate the central areas of the pitch while maintaining enough width to stretch the opposition. The Indomitable Lions look to win the ball high up the pitch and break lines quickly to catch the defense out of position.

EPASSY guards the goal as the foundation of the defensive unit. A back three consisting of TOLO, S. KOTTO (C), and MALONE provides a solid base to cover the width of the penalty area. S. KOTTO (C) acts as the central anchor, using his presence to command the line and intercept long balls. TOLO and MALONE operate as the wide center backs, ready to step up into the midfield or drop deep to cover space behind when the team pushes forward.

The midfield operates in a central block to control the tempo and provide protection for the back line. BALEBA sits in the single pivot role to shield the defense and break up play with his high work rate and interception skills. On either side of him, NAMASO and EBONG act as the central engines, looking to drive forward and link the defense to the attack. The wide midfielders, TCHAMADEU and YONGWA, push high to provide width, essentially acting as wing backs to support the offensive phases.

In the final third, Cameroon relies on a dual strike partnership. KOFANE and MBEUMO lead the line, working together to press the opposition defenders. MBEUMO often looks to cut inside and find space between the lines, while KOFANE works to hold up the ball and bring others into play. The movements of TCHAMADEU and YONGWA create constant overloads on the flanks, which forces the opposition to shift and creates gaps for the forwards to exploit.

One major advantage for Cameroon is the ability to create numerical superiority in the center of the pitch through the five-man midfield. This allows them to control possession and dictate play. Another strength is the ability to transition from a compact defensive block to a rapid counter attack, using the pace of MBEUMO and the width provided by the wing backs to overwhelm the opponent.

This 3-5-2 formation provides a balanced platform for controlling central areas while remaining dangerous on the break. It is a lineup best suited for matches against teams that play a high line or leave space behind their wide midfielders.
