Starting Lineup

A preference for heavy pressing and quick vertical transitions defines São Paulo in this 3-5-2 formation. This lineup aims to control the center of the pitch by packing the middle, making it difficult for opponents to build through the heart of the game. One MLG acts as a shield to protect the back three, while the other two MLGs work to break the lines with vertical passes. The MLG positioned as an attacking midfielder sits higher to link the midfield to the front two.
