Focusing on a heavy high press and quick transitions, this team operates with a 2-4-4 formation. The lineup aims to pin the opposition deep in their own half by flooding the attacking third with numbers. This formation is built to play aggressive, vertical football that relies on winning the ball high up the pitch to catch the opponent out of position.

DONIS stays between the posts to command the area during any breaks. The defensive unit consists of a narrow two man line with OSMAN and VÍCTOR acting as the central defenders. These two must be extremely disciplined as they operate in a high line to squeeze the space. OSMAN and VÍCTOR are tasked with winning the second ball and covering large amounts of ground when the opposition tries to hit in behind. Because there are only two defenders, they must defend zonally and communicate constantly to avoid being split.

The midfield operates as a four man block to control the central areas and provide width. DANILO and LUÍS act as the central pairing, with DANILO looking to press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch while LUÍS connects the defensive and attacking lines. On the flanks, FÉLIX and BRAYAN push high to act as wide midfielders. FÉLIX and BRAYAN provide the necessary width to stretch the defence and can support the attack or track back to help the two central defenders when needed. This midfield unit works to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposition players.

The attack is incredibly crowded with four players positioned to overwhelm the back line. CHOCO and CARLO operate as a partnership of two centre forwards, working to find the feet of the striker or knock it in behind. They lead the press from the front to force a long ball from the opponent. WALTER and RÓGER sit wide as wingers, with WALTER looking to cut inside and RÓGER looking to get to the byline to deliver early balls. This front four works in combinations to create runs in behind and pull wide to isolate defenders in one on one situations.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By committing so many players forward, the team can create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the attacking third. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the close proximity of the four midfielders and four attackers allows the team to play through the lines immediately after a turnover.

The 2-4-4 lineup is a high risk, high reward setup designed for total dominance. It is best suited for games where the team needs to break down a low block or overwhelm an opponent through sheer numbers.
