A heavy emphasis on verticality and direct play defines this team through a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup aims to transition quickly from defense to attack, looking to strike with speed before the opposition can settle into a mid-block. By using two banks of four, the team seeks to remain compact while remaining ready to hit in behind on the transition.

Da Silva starts between the posts to command the area. In front of him, a flat back four provides the foundation for the defensive unit. Weber and Maxhuni act as the central defenders, with Weber looking to win the header and Maxhuni to cover the space behind. Pollio and Di Rosa operate as full backs, looking to hold the line while providing width during build up. The defensive unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and protect the central areas.

The midfield operates in two parallel lines to maintain balance and control the central zone. Streibl and Kübler occupy the central roles, acting as the engine to win the second ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. Streibl looks to drive forward with the ball, while Kübler plays to shield the defense and recycle possession. On the flanks, Liuzza and Zehetbauer provide the width, with Liuzza tasked to track back and Zehetbauer looking to deliver crosses into the box.

The attacking unit relies on two forwards working in close partnership to trouble the opposition back line. Kuhn acts as a pressing centre-forward, leading the charge to trigger a press high up the pitch. Cazorla plays as a second striker in the hole, dropping into space to link up play between the lines and find the feet of the striker. This combination allows the team to attack in combinations, often looking for runs in behind or cutbacks from the byline to catch defenders out of position.
