Starting Lineup
ETIENNE (VAESSEN) · ANFERNEE (DIJKSTEEL) · RADINIO (BALKER) · STEFANO (DENSWIL) · DJEVENCIO (VAN DER KUST) · JUSTIN (LONWIJK) · KENNETH (PAAL) · JEAN-PAUL (BOËTIUS) · VIRGIL (MISIDJAN) · NIGEL (HASSELBAINK) · GYRANO (KERK)This team focuses on extreme verticality and rapid attacking waves, utilizing a 2-4-4 formation. The intent is to overwhelm the opposition with numbers in the final third and force errors high up the pitch. By committing so many players forward, the lineup seeks to dominate through sheer offensive volume and directness.
ETIENNE operates between the posts, acting as the last line of defense in this high risk system. Behind a very thin back line, RADINIO and STEFANO must act as covering defenders to sweep behind the high line. Because there are only two central defenders, they must stay compact and communicate well to handle long balls or runners in behind. They must be ready to defend man to man when the midfield is bypassed, as they lack a deep defensive block to hide behind.
The midfield functions as a heavy engine room with a four man unit designed to win the second ball and drive the play forward. KENNETH sits in a central role to connect the defense to the attack, while ANFERNEE and DJEVENCIO operate to carry the ball forward and provide support. JUSTIN plays as an attacking ten in the pocket to find space between the lines. This midfield group must press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and prevent the opposition from playing out from the back easily.
In the final third, the team uses four attackers to pin the last defender and stretch the defense. VIRGIL and NIGEL play as wide wingers, with VIRGIL cutting inside and NIGEL looking to get to the byline. JEAN-PAUL and GYRANO operate as a partnership in the center, with one acting as a pressing centre-forward to harass the defenders. This lineup is built to attack in combinations, using the width to create cutbacks and allow the attackers to arrive late into the box.
The primary tactical strengths of this formation are the ability to create immediate numerical superiority in the attacking zones and the speed of transition. By flooding the final third, the team can quickly overwhelm a retreating defense. Additionally, the high press from the four forwards can force a long ball, allowing the team to win the ball back quickly in dangerous areas.
This aggressive formation relies on high risk, high reward football to break down deep blocks. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to chase a goal or exploit an opponent that struggles with high intensity pressing.
