In the center, Jan and Dávid form the pairing that must maintain a high line to compress the space between the lines. Jan and Dávid need to communicate constantly to cover each other when one player steps up to intercept a pass.

The midfield functions through a mix of roles to connect the defense to the attack. Ondrej and Patrik occupy the central roles, acting as the engine that drives the team forward. Marek sits in the attacking midfield position to link the central players with the front three. Marek looks to find pockets of space between the opponent midfield and defense to create chances. Slovakia utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition. Ivan and Róbert play as wide wingers, with Róbert cutting inside to create more central presence and Ivan looking to provide width on the right. Szilard operates as the lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball to allow others to join the attack. These three forwards must press in a coordinated way to force mistakes from the opposing defenders.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The midfield trio allows the team to win second balls and dominate the central zone. By having Ivan and Róbert wide, the team creates opportunities to isolate defenders in one on one situations.
