Because there are only two central defenders, they must step up to intercept passes or drop deep to cover space, requiring constant communication to manage the large gaps behind them.

The midfield functions as a central block to control the tempo and link the defense to the attack. Mazraoui and Hakimi act as the two holding players in the middle, providing the necessary screen for the back two. Hakimi is famous for his immense work rate and pace, allowing him to cover wide areas when needed. Moving higher, El Khannouss and Saibari operate in the half spaces to create chances. El Khannouss uses his vision to find through balls, while Saibari drives forward to break the lines and connect the central area with the front four.

An aggressive front line leads the charge to maintain constant pressure. Morocco utilizes four attackers, with Ben Seghir and B. Díaz occupying the wide channels as wingers. Ben Seghir cuts inside to create overloads, while B. Díaz provides width and stretches the opposition defense. In the central areas, Ezzalzouli and En-Nesyri function as the two forwards. En-Nesyri uses his aerial dominance to target crosses, while Ezzalzouli works to hold up the ball and link with the advancing midfielders.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, specifically through massive numerical superiority in the attacking zones. By committing four players to the front, Morocco can easily isolate wide defenders in one on one situations.
