Starting Lineup

The team aims to control the tempo and win the ball back high up the pitch using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to play a high press and dominate territory through constant pressure and quick ball movement. By spreading the width of the pitch, the team looks to stretch the defence and create gaps in the middle.

In goal, GK provides the first layer of the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four where the RB and LB act as attacking full backs to provide width. CB and CB hold a high line to squeeze the space and minimize time for the opposition to play through the lines. These central defenders are tasked to defend zonally and step up to intercept passes before they reach the attacking third. The defensive unit must stay compact to prevent being caught on the transition.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a single pivot. CDM sits in front of the back four to shield the defence and recycle possession. The LCM and RCM act as inverted eights who connect the defensive and attacking lines. One of these midfielders will drive forward with the ball to carry the ball forward into the half-spaces, while the other provides cover to prevent counter attacks. This group works to compress the midfield and ensure control over the center of the pitch.

Attacking the opposition involves three attackers across the front. The ST acts as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press from the front and pin the last defender. On the flanks, LW and RW operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. This movement allows the LB and RB to overlap the winger and deliver crosses into the box. The front three look to play through the lines with quick combinations and runs in behind to catch the opposition defense out of position.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The high press allows the team to win it back high up the pitch and create immediate goal scoring chances. Using attacking full backs creates wide overloads that force the opposition to defend deep. Additionally, the positioning of the inverted wingers creates numerical superiority in the middle, making it difficult for opponents to defend the central zones.
