BIJLOW guards the goal while a back three provides the foundation for the defensive unit. ØSTIGÅRD acts as the central anchor, sitting deep to protect the zone in front of the keeper. To his sides, VASQUEZ and MARCANDALLI cover the channels, stepping up to intercept passes or tracking runs into the half spaces. The defensive unit functions by staying close together to deny space between the lines, making it difficult for opponents to play through the middle.

Control of the engine room comes through a five man midfield that covers the width of the pitch. BALDANZI and FRENDRUP operate in the central areas to hold the ball and protect the back three. MALINOVSKYI joins them to connect the defense to the attack, using his long passing range to switch play or break lines. On the flanks, MARTIN and N. CUFFY act as wing backs, pushing up to provide width in the final third and tracking back to help the defenders when possession is lost.

The attacking unit consists of two forwards who work in tandem to pressure the opposition defense. COLOMBO leads the line as a striker, looking to hold up the ball and create space for his partner. VITINHA plays as a second striker, often making runs to exploit gaps between the defenders. This duo works to press high when the team loses the ball, forcing mistakes in the opponent's half and allowing the midfield to win possession in dangerous areas.

Genoa finds significant advantages through the presence of wing backs like N. CUFFY and MARTIN, who can create wide overloads against a back four.
