Starting Lineup

This lineup seeks to overwhelm opponents through a heavy high press and rapid verticality, utilizing a 3-3-4 formation. The goal is to pin the opposition back in their own half and create chaos in the final third by flooding the pitch with attackers. By playing with such a high number of forwards, the team intends to dominate the offensive zones and force turnovers through sheer numbers.

In the defensive third, Coria operates between the posts to organize the back line. The three defenders form a narrow defensive block consisting of Jorge, Topo, and Pollo. Jorge acts as the central figure to anchor the line, while Topo and Pollo provide coverage on the flanks. When the team plays a high line, Topo and Pollo must be ready to cover the space behind them if the opposition hits in behind on the transition. This trio works to defend zonally, ensuring they stay compact to deny central passing lanes.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Carlos sits in front of the defense as a single pivot to shield the back three and recycle possession. Moving forward from that base, Scanny and Pipís act as the engine, with Scanny looking to drive forward with the ball into the half-spaces. Pipís works to press aggressively to win the ball high and supports the transition from the middle third to the attacking zone.

The attacking unit is incredibly aggressive, using four attackers to stretch the defence. Histeria and Chucho operate as a central partnership, with Histeria acting as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line. On the wings, Erik and Brayan act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide maximum width. This setup allows for combinations in tight spaces, where Erik can cut inside to create space for a cross or a through ball to Chucho. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

A major tactical advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back. The heavy presence of Histeria, Chucho, Erik, and Brayan creates constant pressure on the opposition back line. Additionally, the team can create wide overloads if Scanny or Pipís push forward to support the wingers. This numerical superiority in the final third forces defenders into mistakes and allows the team to break quickly.
