WARREN and SENNY work in the central areas to shield the defense and win back possession, while LEE operates as an attacking midfielder to connect the play. LEE pushes into the pockets of space between the opponent's lines to create chances. Up front, the attacking unit consists of three players designed to stretch the opposition. IBRAHIM and DÉSIRÉ occupy the wings as wide attackers, looking to cut inside or cross the ball into the box. GONÇALO leads the line as a lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball and making runs to break the line. These three forwards press the opposing defenders intensely to force mistakes and regain possession high up the pitch.

One major advantage for PSG is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, with the front three and Lee leading the charge. The formation also allows for quick transitions, using the speed of the wingers to exploit space as soon as the midfield wins the ball.
