High pressing and rapid verticality define the identity of Celtic as they deploy a 4-3-3. This formation seeks to dominate the ball and push the opposition back into their own half through intense pressure. The team aims to win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. Every player in the lineup must be ready to transition quickly from a defensive block to an attacking wave.

Kasper operates between the posts to organize the back line. A flat back four provides the foundation, with Liam and Cameron acting as the central defenders. Cameron and Liam must hold their position to prevent long balls from breaking the line, while also being ready to step up to intercept passes. Alistair and Kieran provide width from the flanks. Alistair can overlap to support the wingers, while Kieran is expected to push forward to cross the ball or cut inside to create extra passing lanes.

The midfield works through a combination of a central engine and an attacking playmaker. Arne and Callum occupy the central roles to control the tempo and shield the defense. They must track back to cover space when the full backs push high. Reo operates as the attacking midfielder, sitting just behind the front three to link the midfield to the attack. Reo is tasked to find pockets of space between the lines and provide key passes to the forwards.

A heavy emphasis on width comes from the front three. Daizen and Benjamin act as wide wingers who look to isolate defenders in one on one situations. Daizen often cuts inside to shoot or play through balls, while Benjamin uses his pace to stretch the pitch. Kelechi leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and bring the midfielders into play. This front line is designed to press the opposition defenders immediately upon losing possession.

One major advantage of this Celtic lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three and Reo, the team can force turnovers in dangerous areas. Another strength is the potential for wide overloads. When Alistair or Kieran overlap, they create numerical superiority against the opposing full backs, allowing Daizen or Benjamin more space to operate. This forces the opposition to drop deep and limits their ability to attack.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on aggressive pressing and quick transitions to overwhelm the opponent. It is best suited for matches where the team wants to dictate the tempo and dominate possession against a lower block.
