David Raya acts as the goalkeeper, initiating play from the back with his passing range. In front of him, a back five provides a solid base. Zubimendi sits in the center of the defense to organize the unit, while Gabriel and Saliba occupy the left and right central defender spots. Saliba uses his recovery speed to cover space behind the line. On the flanks, Timber and Calafiori operate as wing backs, providing width and overlapping to support the attack. This defensive group can sit deep or step up to squeeze the space between the lines.

The midfield works in a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. Rice provides a massive presence to shield the back line, using his tackling and interception skills to disrupt play. Beside him, Ødegaard acts as the primary creator, driving the ball forward and searching for killer passes.
