The midfield operates with a three man central core supported by wide players. Ampadu sits in the middle to shield the defense and intercept passes, acting as the anchor. Tanaka and Stach operate around him to drive the ball forward and connect the defense to the attack. Bogle and Gudmundsson occupy the wide areas, providing much needed width and tracking back to help the defenders when the team loses possession.

Leeds employs two strikers to lead the offensive pressure. Calvert Lewin operates as a lone striker in the left channel, using his aerial strength to hold up the ball and target crosses. Nmecha plays alongside him as a second striker to find pockets of space and make runs behind the defensive line. These two forwards press the opposition center backs constantly to prevent them from building play from the back.

This formation offers significant advantages through its ability to control the central zone. The presence of Ampadu, Tanaka, and Stach allows Leeds to create numerical superiority in midfield, making it difficult for opponents to pass through the middle.
