A high press and rapid transition game defines this lineup in a 5-2-3. The team looks to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly spread wide to catch the opposition before they can get organized. This formation is built to play vertically, using the width of the pitch to stretch the defence and create gaps for the forwards.

Goalie acts as the last line of defence behind a back five. The central defensive trio consists of AY, Victory, and Festus, who maintain a narrow defensive block to protect the middle. Victory and Festus act as the primary cover while AY holds the line in the center. On the flanks, Zeyaf and Timi operate as attacking wing backs. Zeyaf and Timi push high to provide width, which allows the central defenders to drop back and form a solid line when the team loses possession.

The midfield functions as a double pivot. Saxie and David sit in front of the back five to shield the defence and win the second ball. Saxie acts as the driver to carry the ball forward, while David looks to recycle possession and find the feet of the attackers. These two connect the defensive unit to the front three, ensuring the team can move from a mid-block into an attacking phase without leaving the centre of the pitch exposed.

The attacking line uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Maxwell plays as a lone striker, working to hold up the ball and link up play with the wide players. Dave and Wizard operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. Dave and Wizard stretch the defence by pulling wide before cutting into the half spaces, which creates space for Zeyaf and Timi to overlap the winger. This movement forces the opposition to defend in tight spaces and creates many runs in behind.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads from overlapping full backs. When Zeyaf and Timi push forward, they create a numbers advantage against the opposition full backs. Another strength is the compactness when defending in a low block, as the five defenders and two midfielders make it very difficult for the opponent to play through the lines.

This formation provides a heavy presence in wide areas while remaining defensively solid through the central trio. It is best suited for games against teams that play a high line and can be punished on the transition.
