Starting Lineup
Mark A · Tobi (C) · Favour · Edmond · Charles · Stephen · Victor · Manny · Chisom · Mudia · GideonA high pressing and direct style of play defines this lineup in a 3-3-4. The goal is to suffocate the opposition in their own half and use a heavy front line to force turnovers. This formation relies on aggressive verticality to catch the opponent off guard and strike quickly before they can settle into a rhythm.
Mark A guards the goal as the final line of defense. The back three consists of Chisom, Tobi (C), and Favour. Tobi (C) acts as the central anchor, commanding the defensive line and organizing the unit. Chisom and Favour provide the width in the back three, tasked with covering the wide areas when the midfield pushes high. This unit works to hold a high line to compress the pitch, with the defenders ready to step up and intercept long balls.
The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier. Edmond and Mudia occupy the central spaces to provide stability and win the second ball. Edmond acts to shield the defense, while Mudia has the license to carry the ball forward and connect the defense to the attack. Charles operates as an attacking ten behind the striker line, looking to find pockets of space between the opponent's lines. This trio must be ready to press in pairs to win it back high up the pitch and keep the pressure constant.
The attack is built around four players to stretch the defence. Victor and Gideon act as wide wingers, with Victor hugging the touchline and Gideon looking to cut inside to create chaos. In the center, Stephen and Manny work as a partnership of two forwards. Stephen acts as a pressing centre-forward to harass the ball carrier, while Manny looks to find the feet of the striker or run in behind the defense. The movement of these four is designed to create constant runs in behind and force the opposition back line to retreat constantly.
This formation offers several tactical advantages for the team. The heavy front line allows the team to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. There is also a clear advantage in numbers during the attacking phase, which helps to pin the last defender and create chances through sheer volume of players in the final third.
The 3-3-4 focuses on extreme aggression and overwhelming the opponent in the attacking third. This lineup is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play under heavy pressure or those that defend in a deep block.
