PSG Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Sly (Reo) · David (Nel Isagi) · Fishy (Sae) · Vlad (Shidou) · FireForce · P1 · P2 · P3 · P4 · BALL · GKA heavy emphasis on defensive compactness defines PSG in this 4-5-1 formation. The lineup is built to sit deep and absorb pressure before hitting teams with quick transitions. By clogging the central areas, the team seeks to deny space between the lines and force opponents to play wide. This setup works well when the team wants to control the tempo through a crowded central zone.
FireForce stands between the posts to command the defensive unit. Ahead of the goalkeeper, a flat back four provides the main defensive block. David and Fishy act as the central pair, with David covering more space while Fishy stays tight to the box. On the flanks, Sly and Vlad provide width but will often drop back to form a five man line when the team sits deep. This back line must stay compact to prevent runners from breaking through the middle.
In the center of the pitch, the midfield functions as a five man block to protect the defense. BALL sits in the single pivot role to shield the back four and intercept passes. Moving ahead of him, P1, P3, and P4 occupy the central spaces to track runners and win second balls. P2 operates as the attacking ten, sitting in the pocket behind the striker to connect the midfield to the attack. This midfield group must shift side to side to close down passing lanes.
The attacking phase relies on a lone striker, GK, who must hold up the ball to bring others into play. Since the team is outnumbered in the final third, the front line must press high to prevent the opponent from building from the back. P2 works closely with GK to create chances through quick combination play. The width comes from the wingers or wide midfielders pushing up to cross the ball into the box when the team wins the ball back.
One major advantage for PSG is the density they create in the middle of the pitch. With BALL, P1, P3, and P4 all occupying central zones, it is very difficult for opponents to play through the center. Another strength is the ability to hit teams on the break once the midfield intercepts a pass. The movement of P2 allows the team to quickly transition from a defensive block into an attacking threat.
This 4-5-1 formation prioritizes defensive stability and central control. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and require a disciplined low block to frustrate them.
