A high pressing and direct style of play defines Senegal in this 4-3-3. The Teranga Snails look to win the ball high up the pitch and move the play forward quickly through the middle or out wide. This formation is built to use pace in transition to catch opponents out of position.

Edouard Mendy acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back four relies on the aerial strength and leadership of captain Kalidou Koulibaly, who commands the right side of the central defense. Beside him, M.Niakhaté provides cover and ability to play the ball out from the back. On the flanks, K.Diatta and E. H. M. A midfield three manages the central areas of the pitch. Idrissa Gueye sits in front of the defense as a single pivot to intercept passes and shield the back four. He provides the link between the defense and the more advanced players. P.Gueye and P.Matar Sarr operate in the pockets ahead of him, with P.Gueye driving the ball forward and P.Matar Sarr working to connect the midfield to the front three. They must track back quickly when possession is lost to maintain the team block.

The attacking line features three dangerous forwards. Nicolas Jackson leads the line as a lone striker, using his movement to occupy central defenders and hold up the ball. On the wings, Sadio Mané and I.Sarr provide width and directness. Sadio Mané likes to cut inside from the left to find shooting lanes, while I.Sarr uses his pace to stretch the play on the right. These attackers press intensely to force mistakes in the opponent half.

Senegal benefits from significant speed in transition. The ability of the front three to run into space allows the team to punish teams that play a high line. Another advantage is the strength in the middle, where Idrissa Gueye and P.Gueye create a physical presence that can win second balls and dominate the central zone. This combination of defensive solidity and quick verticality makes them very difficult to play against.
