High pressing and rapid vertical transitions define the tactical identity of Unión (SF) in a 4-4-2. This formation aims to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly move it toward the attackers. By using a balanced lineup, the team looks to control the central areas while maintaining enough distance between lines to remain compact.

Agustín Chávez operates between the posts to organize the defensive unit. A flat back four forms the base of the defense, with Gael Canteros acting as the right back to support the wide areas. Lucas Ayala sits on the left as the left back, while Tomás Fagioli and MMMATEO AIMAR occupy the center. These two central defenders must mark closely and remain dominant in the air to clear long balls. The back line can step up to compress the space when the team presses.

The midfield functions as a flat bank of four to maintain defensive coverage across the pitch. Santiago Vera acts as the single pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes before they reach the back four. Beside him, Mateo Peresutti and Ricardo Solbes occupy the central roles to drive forward and connect the lines. Benjamín Pérez works on the left side of the midfield to track back and provide support. This unit works to push the opposition back and win second balls.

Two attackers lead the front line to stretch the opposition defense. VALENTÍN CERRUDO plays as the left striker, while IGNACIO PEDANO operates as the right striker. These two forwards are tasked to press the opposing defenders and force mistakes. They must work together to hold up the ball and allow the midfield to join the attack. Their movements create space for the midfielders to run into the final third.

Unión (SF) gains a significant advantage through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. By squeezing the space in the middle, the midfield and forwards work together to trap the opponent. Another strength is the speed of transition, where the team moves from a defensive block to an attacking stance in seconds. This allows them to catch the opposition while they are out of position.
