Starting Lineup

Thissen · Olli · Sascha · Ali · Toxico · Greeny · Pascal · Marvin · David · Carsten · Pon

Aiming to control the tempo and dominate the center of the pitch, this team operates in a 3-5-2 formation. The lineup focuses on a high press and heavy central presence to suffocate the opposition. This is a setup built to win the ball back quickly and use quick vertical passes to break the lines before the opponent can settle.

Thissen stands between the posts to command the area and organize the back line. The defensive unit works as a compact three with Sascha acting as the central anchor to sweep behind the line and cover gaps. Ali plays as the right centre back to provide cover while Olli occupies the left side to maintain the defensive block. This trio aims to stay tight and compress the space between the defense and the midfield.

A central three man midfield with a carrier and two deep players provides the engine for the team. Toxico and Greeny sit in a double pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes in the middle third. Marvin and Pascal act as inverted eights who drive forward with the ball to connect the defensive and attacking lines. David operates as an attacking ten behind the strikers, looking to find space between the lines and create chances with quick combinations.

The attack relies on a partnership of two forwards to pin the last defender. Pon and Carsten work in tandem, often playing as a front two that can press from the front to force long balls. They look to exploit the channels and make runs in behind to stretch the defense. While the forwards fight for central presence, the midfielders like David arrive late into the box to add an extra layer of threat during the final phase of the attack.

One major advantage of this lineup is the numerical superiority in midfield which allows the team to control the ball and recycle possession effectively. The ability to press in coordinated waves from the front three and the central midfielders makes it very difficult for opponents to build out from the back. This formation also allows for quick transitions when the ball is won high up the pitch.

This 3-5-2 formation relies on intense central pressure and rapid ball movement to overwhelm opponents. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate the middle of the park and punish teams that play with a thin midfield.
