Starting Lineup

ASIM (Aalesund) · YUSUF (Molde) · HABİP (Molde) · CEMAL (Molde) · ÇINAR (Molde) · GÜRAY (Molde) · MİRAÇ (Molde) · YUNUS (Molde) · YAMAN (Molde) · BATIKAN (C) (Molde) · EMİR (Molde)

The team relies on a high press and rapid transitions using a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and strike quickly before the opposition can get organized. By using a heavy defensive base, the team can commit numbers forward while maintaining a solid core to stop counter attacks.

ASIM stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit functions as a back three with Güray acting as the central man to clear the lines and anchor the zone. BATIKAN (C) plays as the left centre back and uses his leadership to command the defensive line, while Yunus operates as the right centre back to cover the space. The wide defenders are expected to provide extreme width, with Yusuf acting as the left wing back to overlap and Emir pushing forward as the right wing back. This system allows the defenders to sit deep or step up to squeeze the space depending on the ball position.

A three-man midfield provides the engine for this formation. Habip and Miraç work as the central pair to shield the defence and win the second ball. Habip focuses on marking opponents in the middle, while Miraç carries the ball forward to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Yaman plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers, occupying the hole between the opposition midfield and defence. Yaman acts as the primary link, looking to receive on the half-turn and play through the lines to find the forwards.

The attack uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition defence. Çinar and Cemal operate as the front two, often working in combinations to pull defenders out of position. Çinar acts as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press from the front, while Cemal looks to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. This duo works with Yaman to create constant movement, often looking to exploit the space left by retreating midfielders. The team builds attacks through the wings, using the wide runners to deliver crosses into the box for the two strikers.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, particularly in terms of compactness when defending. The narrowness of the central block makes it hard for opponents to play through the middle, forcing them to the flanks. Additionally, the team can create wide overloads through the overlapping runs of Yusuf and Emir, which pins the last defender of the opposition. The ability to transition quickly from a five man defensive block to an attacking front five makes this lineup very dangerous on the break.

The team uses a solid defensive base to support a high intensity pressing game. This 5-3-2 is best suited for games against teams that play with high lines or rely heavily on possession in the middle third.
