A heavy high press and vertical attacking style define Osasuna as they operate in a 4-3-3. This formation allows the team to stay compact while looking to break the lines quickly once they win the ball back. Every player in the lineup must remain ready to jump from a mid block into a pressing trap to force turnovers high up the pitch.

AITOR stays between the posts to organize the back line and sweep up long balls. In front of him, a flat back four provides the base for the defense. JORGE and JUAN act as the central defenders, with JORGE covering the right side and JUAN handling the left. The full backs, IÑIGO and ABEL, are tasked with tracking back to prevent crosses and stepping up to provide width when the team has the ball. Together, this defensive unit works to stay close to one another to deny space between the lines.

The midfield operates with a combination of roles to control the center of the pitch. ASIER and IKER work in the central areas to shield the defense and recycle possession, while MOI acts as the attacking ten to connect the midfield to the front line. ASIER and IKER must hold their positions to prevent counter attacks, whereas MOI looks to find pockets of space between the opponent's midfield and defense. This setup ensures that the midfield can shift horizontally to cover gaps and support both the build up and the pressing phases.

Osasuna employs three attackers to stretch the opposition defense. RAÚL operates on the right wing and KIKE stays on the left, both looking to cut inside or stretch the play to create room. RAÚL leads the line as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and direct the movement of the wingers. The attackers press in unison, forcing defenders into mistakes and trying to win the ball as close to the opponent's goal as possible.

This formation offers clear tactical advantages, such as the ability to create wide overloads when ABEL and IÑIGO push forward to support the wingers. The presence of MOI behind the strikers creates a numerical advantage in the final third, making it harder for opponents to mark everyone. Additionally, the coordination between the midfield and the front three allows Osasuna to press high in coordinated waves to suffocate the opposition.

The 4-3-3 lineup provides a balanced way to control the tempo and apply pressure through the center and the flanks. It is a formation best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under intense pressure.
