This team focuses on a heavy mid-block and quick transitions using a 4-5-1. The goal is to stay compact in the middle of the pitch and use the width of the five midfielders to disrupt the opposition. This formation is built to sit deep and wait for the right moment to break quickly when the opponent leaves space behind their defensive line.

ESSAOUIS acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with TIMMONERI acting as the right back to provide defensive stability. On the left, PETRUCCI holds the position to cover the flank. In the center, MAURO and MARTINEZ work together to defend the box, with MARTINEZ covering more space while MAURO focuses on winning the second ball. The unit will shift side to side to keep the lines tight and prevent opponents from playing through the middle.

The midfield is a central engine designed to compress the space between the lines. BOJANG plays as the single pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Beside him, CALVANO and MESSINA act as the two central midfielders who connect the defense to the attack. CALVANO works to drive forward with the ball while MESSINA looks to intercept passes and win possession in the middle. On the flanks, PRESTIA and DIAW operate as wide midfielders to provide width and help the full backs when tracking back.

ARQUIN plays as a lone striker and must work hard to press from the front. He often acts as a target man to hold up the ball and allow the midfielders to push up. The attack relies on the wingers, PRESTIA and DIAW, to provide service from wide areas. When the team wins the ball, they look to hit in behind on the transition, using the wide players to stretch the defense or finding ARQUIN to lay it off to arriving runners.

One major advantage is the ability to stay compact when defending by keeping the five midfielders close to the back four. This makes it very hard for opponents to find passing lanes through the center. Another strength is the capacity to hit in behind on the transition, using the speed of the wide players to exploit gaps. This lineup can quickly switch play to catch the opposition out of position.

This formation is designed to be defensively solid while being dangerous on the counter. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and leave large gaps behind their defenders.
