Toro acts as the last line of defense, often left to manage space behind a very high defensive line. The backline consists of just two central defenders, Shuaibu and Usman, who must be ready to cover wide areas and sprint back when the ball is lost. Because there are only two players in the central defensive zone, Shuaibu and Usman must be prepared to defend man to man or step up to intercept passes. This defensive unit relies on the midfielders to sit deep and protect the space in front of them to prevent long balls.

The midfield is the engine room of this lineup, using a five man unit to congest the center. Nurudeen and Ahmed operate as a double pivot, working together to shield the defense and win the second ball. John sits just ahead of them as a central midfielder to connect the defensive and attacking lines. In the half spaces, Thompson and Hafeez act as the left and right attacking midfielders, looking to drive forward with the ball or find pockets of space between the opponent lines. This central strength allows the team to recycle possession and dictate the tempo.

In the final third, the team employs three attackers to pin the opposition back. Abdulqadir acts as the lone striker, working to find the feet of his teammates or make runs in behind the defenders. One major advantage of this formation is the massive numerical superiority in the midfield, which makes it very hard for opponents to play through the center. The team can also create wide overloads when Thompson or Hafeez push forward to support the wingers.
