The midfield relies on a double pivot consisting of ALARCON and ASCACIBAR. These two players are responsible for controlling the center of the pitch and protecting the back three. ALARCON and ASCACIBAR must work closely to intercept passes and break the lines when they move forward. They act as the engine room, connecting the defensive unit to the attacking trio by recycling possession and shielding the central defenders during transitions.

Attacking duties fall to a front three composed of JANSON, MERENTIEL, and BAREIRO. JANSON and MERENTIEL operate as wide attackers who can cut inside to create space or stay wide to cross the ball. BAREIRO leads the line as a lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball and making runs to disrupt the opposition defense. The movement of JANSON and MERENTIEL forces the opposing full backs to stay deep, which creates pockets of space for the midfielders to exploit.

Boca gains a major advantage through the wide overloads created by BLANCO and WEIGANDT. When these wing backs push forward, they create numerical superiority alongside JANSON and MERENTIEL on the flanks. Another strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to force mistakes near the opponent's goal. This high pressure makes it difficult for the opposition to build play from the back.

This 5-2-3 formation provides a compact defensive block while maintaining a heavy presence in the final third. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle with high pressing or teams that leave space behind their defensive line.
