Motor Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Brkic · Luberecki · Matthys · Najemski · Stolarski · Samper · Wolski · Rodrigues · Ronaldo · Czubak · KrolDominating space through a high press and quick transitions, Motor operates with a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup seeks to control the game by squeezing the opponent in their own half and winning the ball back quickly. The team looks to play direct, vertical football once the ball is recovered to catch the opposition out of position.
Brkic acts as the last line of defense in goal, organizing the back four to ensure compactness. The defensive unit functions with a flat back four where Stolarski and Luberecki provide width. Stolarski can push forward to overlap, while Luberecki tracks back to cover space left behind. In the center, Najemski and Matthys form the heart of the defense, with Najemski providing strength in the air and Matthys acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks from deep.
The midfield relies on a single pivot system to maintain balance. Samper sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and intercept passes. Beside him, Rodrigues and Wolski operate as two central midfielders who drive the team forward. Rodrigues works to connect the lines by recycling possession, while Wolski looks to break the line with vertical passes or carries into the final third. This trio ensures that the transition from defense to attack remains constant.
Up front, the attack is built around three attackers. Ronaldo plays as an inverted winger on the left, cutting inside to create goal scoring opportunities, while Krol operates on the right wing to stretch the play. Czubak leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the opposition defenders. The forwards press in unison, forcing mistakes high up the pitch to trigger immediate attacking waves.
Motor gains a significant advantage through their ability to create wide overloads. When Stolarski and Luberecki push up, they combine with Krol and Ronaldo to overwhelm the opposition full backs. The team also benefits from the speed of transition, moving the ball from Samper to the front three with very few touches. This ability to isolate wide players in one on one situations makes the Motor offense very difficult to mark.
This 4-3-3 formation is designed to overwhelm opponents through relentless pressure and rapid vertical movement. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under intense pressure.
