The midfield operates as a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. Declan Rice works to shield the defense and intercept passes, while Martin Ødegaard acts as the creative engine to connect the lines and find pockets of space. These two must cover vast amounts of ground to prevent counter attacks and ensure the team maintains control. This central duo provides the necessary link between the back three and the attacking trio.

Front line movements rely on three distinct attackers to stretch the opposition. Gyökeres leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and lead the press. Bukayo Saka operates on the right wing to cut inside and create chances, while Yıldız provides width and movement on the left. This attacking trio pushes the defensive line of the opponent back, creating space for the midfielders to run into.

This formation offers significant advantages through wide overloads and defensive compactness. When Timber and Saka occupy the same side, it creates a situation where the opposition struggles to track both runs. Additionally, the presence of three central defenders allows the wing backs like Hincapié to push very high without leaving the center exposed. The ability to press in coordinated waves makes Arsenal very difficult to play through.
