High pressing and quick transitions define the tactical identity of Inter in this 3-4-3 formation. This lineup aims to control the tempo through central passing while maintaining a heavy presence in the final third. By utilizing a compact block, the team looks to win the ball high up the pitch and move the ball vertically toward the goal with speed.

Yann Sommer acts as the foundation in goal, starting the build up from the back. A back three provides a solid base, with Akanji sitting in the center to cover space and intercept passes. Bastoni operates as the left central defender, using his passing range to break the lines, while Bisseck occupies the right central defender role to provide physical presence. The wide players, Dimarco and Dumfries, act as wing backs who push high to provide width, requiring them to track back quickly when the team loses possession to prevent being caught on the break.

The midfield functions as a central engine room consisting of a central pairing. Calhanoglu dictates the tempo from a deeper position, looking to switch play and find teammates in advanced areas. Barella works alongside him to drive forward, pressing opponents aggressively and making late runs into the box. This duo connects the defensive unit to the front line, ensuring the team remains compact while transitioning from a defensive block to an attacking stance.

In the attacking third, Inter employs three forwards to stretch the opposition. Lautaro leads the line as the striker, often dropping deep to hold up the ball and bring others into play. Zielinski operates on the left wing, looking to cut inside and create chances, while Thuram provides a direct threat on the right. The movements of these three forwards are designed to create space for the overlapping runs of Dimarco and Dumfries, forcing defenders to choose between marking the wing backs or the central attackers.

One major advantage for Inter is the ability to create wide overloads when the wing backs push forward. This forces the opposing defense to shift and leave gaps in the middle. Another strength is the numerical superiority in the middle of the park when Calhanoglu and Barella combine with the advancing attackers to overwhelm the opponent. The coordinated pressing from the front three also allows the team to regain possession in dangerous areas.

This 3-4-3 formation creates a relentless attacking presence that is difficult to track. It is particularly effective against teams that play a high line or struggle to manage wide areas during transitions.
