Saliba and Gabriel provide strength and ability to cover space when the line steps up, while Anderson sits deep to anchor the defense. On the flanks, Timber and Hincapié operate as wing backs to provide width and support the attack. Timber can overlap to deliver crosses, while Hincapié provides balance to ensure the defense is not exposed during transitions.

A double pivot sits in front of the back three to control the middle of the pitch. Rice provides a physical presence to shield the defense and intercept passes, often tracking back to help the central defenders. Ødegaard operates in the right central midfield role, using his passing range and vision to break the line and connect the defense to the front three. This pair must work hard to cover the ground between the defensive line and the attackers to keep the team compact.

The attacking front three focuses on stretching the opposition. Gyökeres leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and make runs into the channels. Saka stays wide on the right to cut inside and create goalscoring chances, while Yıldız operates on the left to provide directness. These attackers are expected to press the opposition defenders heavily to force mistakes high up the pitch.

Arsenal gains a massive advantage through wide overloads when Timber and Saka work together on the right flank.
