Tielemans and Onana occupy the central channels to connect the defense to the attack, with Tielemans often using his passing range to switch play. De Bruyne operates as the attacking midfielder, looking to break the line with incisive passes and drive the team forward.

In the attacking phase, the team utilizes three dedicated forwards to stretch the opposition. Trossard and Openda stay wide to provide width and pull defenders out of position. Trossard often looks to cut inside to create more central congestion. Lukaku leads the line as the lone striker, using his strength to hold up the ball and bring others into play. These attackers press in coordinated waves to prevent the opposition from building from the back.
