Gocholeishvili and Muheim sit deeper as the two holding midfielders to shield the two central defenders. Remberg and Capaldo operate in the half spaces to drive forward and link the play. Vieira sits ahead of them as the attacking ten to find pockets of space and break the line with incisive passes.

In the attacking third, the team deploys three players to stretch the opposition. Philippe and Grønbaek act as wide wingers who stay near the touchline to provide width. They look to cut inside or deliver crosses into the box.
