A high pressing and vertical style of play defines Inter and their 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball high up the pitch and quickly breaking the lines to catch the opposition off guard. The team looks to dominate the half spaces and create overloads through aggressive movement in the final third.

Josep Martinez starts between the posts to manage the back line. The defensive unit consists of a back three where Bastoni operates as the left central defender, Akansi holds the center, and Bisseck covers the right side. Bastoni is a ball playing defender who can step up into midfield to help build play. The wing backs, Dimarco and Dumfries, provide the width, with Dimarco often looking to overlap and cross while Dumfries uses his power to drive into the box.

The midfield relies on a central duo to control the tempo and protect the defense. Barella works in the right central midfield role, using his high work rate and pressing intensity to disrupt play, while Zielinski provides the creative link from the left central midfield position. This pair must cover a lot of ground to prevent counter attacks and ensure the team maintains control of the center of the pitch. They connect the back three to the attacking trio by moving the ball quickly through the lines.

In the attacking phase, Inter deploy three forwards to stretch the opposition defense. Lautaro acts as the lone striker, holding up the ball and making runs to pull defenders out of position. Thuram operates from the right wing and can cut inside to create chances, while P.Esposito plays on the left wing to provide directness. This front line is designed to press the opposition back line immediately upon losing possession to force mistakes.

One major strength is the ability to create wide overloads when Dimarco and Dumfries push high. The team also finds success through the pressing intensity of Barella and the passing range of Bastoni. These elements allow Inter to transition from a defensive block to an attacking wave with incredible speed.

This 3-4-3 formation provides a heavy presence in both the middle and wide areas of the pitch. It is a lineup best suited for dominating possession against teams that sit deep or for punishing opponents with quick transitions.
