Balević stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defense consists of a flat back four where Bukorac and Drobnjak work as the central pairing. Bukorac and Drobnjak must hold their ground and cover the spaces behind the midfielders. On the flanks, Bojat and Vukajlović act as traditional full backs. Bojat looks to overlap when the winger cuts inside, while Vukajlović tracks back to maintain the defensive block.

The midfield relies on a double pivot consisting of Tošeski and Ilić. This pair acts as the engine room, tasked with shielding the defense and recycling possession. Tošeski and Ilić must work hard to intercept passes and break the lines with forward runs. They serve as the vital link, helping the ball move from the defensive unit into the heavy attacking front line.
