PIO ESPOSITO (Bonny) · LAUTARO (Leweling *) · DIABY * (Diouf, Topalovic) · DIMARCO (Sessegnon *) · BAKU * (Kamate) · ZIELINSKI (Sucic, Samu Costa *) · BARELLA (A.Stankovic *) · BASTONI (Alexiou) · AKANJI (Süle *) · BISSECK (Van Hecke *) · ATUBOLU * (Josep)Inter operates with a 3-4-3 formation that relies on a heavy high press and quick transitions. This lineup is built to dominate the middle of the pitch while using wide players to stretch the opposing defense. The team looks to win the ball high up the field and immediately push into the final third to catch opponents out of position.
ATUBOLU stays between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit works as a back three with AKANJI acting as the central anchor. AKANJI uses his aerial strength and reading of the game to intercept passes. BASTONI plays as the left center back and looks to step up into midfield to help with the buildup. BISSECK covers the right side of the defense to provide extra protection. The defenders work together to maintain a high line, forcing the opposition to play long balls.
The midfield consists of a central pair and two wide players. BARELLA works in the center to press hard and drive the ball forward through the lines. ZIELINSKI connects the defense to the attack by finding pockets of space to receive the ball. On the flanks, DIMARCO and BAKU provide the width for the formation. DIMARCO can push high to overlap the attackers, while BAKU tracks back to help the defense when the team loses possession.
Inter uses three attackers to put constant pressure on the opposition backline. PIO ESPOSITO plays as the lone striker to hold up the ball and fight for second balls. LAUTARO and DIABY act as wide forwards who often cut inside to create goalscoring chances. These attackers press in a coordinated way to prevent the opponent from playing out from the back. The movements of the front three create gaps in the defense for the midfielders to exploit.
One major advantage is the ability to create wide overloads when DIMARCO and BAKU push forward. This forces the opposing wingers to drop deep and leaves them with less space to attack. The team also gains numerical superiority in the middle when BARELLA and ZIELINSKI press in tandem. This setup allows Inter to win the ball back quickly and start a fast break.
This 3-4-3 formation provides a balanced way to control games through aggressive pressing and wing play. It is best suited for matches against teams that try to build play slowly from the back.
