Kosovo operates in a 4-4-2 formation. This lineup is built to play a direct and vertical style of football. The goal is to use the width of the pitch and target the strength of the forwards to break lines quickly.

Arijanet Muric plays in goal to provide a presence in the box. The back four consists of Dardan Gallapeni on the left and Milot Vojvoda on the right. In the center, captain Amadou Rrahmani acts as a dominant force in the air and covers the space behind his partner. Aksamir Hajdari plays alongside him to help block crosses and mark runners. This defensive unit tends to sit deep to keep the space behind them limited.

The midfield functions as a flat four to maintain compactness. Lulzim Avdullahu and Ermal Rexhbeçaj occupy the central roles to shield the defense and connect to the front line. They must press hard to intercept passes and win second balls. On the flanks, Ermedin Zhegrova and Florent Muslija provide width. Zhegrova uses his dribbling style to beat his man and cut inside to create chances.

The attack uses two forwards to stretch the opposition. Vedat Muriqi acts as the main target man who can hold up the ball and use his aerial strength. Beside him, Francesco Asllani plays as a second striker to run into the channels and find space between the lines. This front line presses the opposition defenders to force mistakes and force the play wide.

One major strength of this Kosovo lineup is the ability to exploit wide areas. The combination of Zhegrova and Muslija allows the team to create overloads on the wings and deliver crosses into the box. Another advantage is the speed of transition when the midfield wins the ball. They can quickly switch play to the attackers to catch the opponent out of position.
