Havertz and Gyokeres play as a central duo, where Gyokeres can hold up the ball and Havertz can drop into pockets of space to link play. This front line is designed to press in waves, forcing the opponent to play long and direct.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves with four players already near the opposition box. The team can also create wide overloads if Salmon or Mosquera overlap with the wingers. The presence of two strikers allows for quick transitions where the team can break the line with direct passes and exploit the space behind the opposition defense.
